BIOL 6022 Food Hygiene and Biosecurity

Analysis of the main diseases transmitted by water and food. It includes the study of the agents associated with the deliberate or involuntary contamination of foodstuffs and the hygiene measures to control them. Emphasis is placed on the aspects of food safety, risk reduction, epidemiological surveillance and the role of the laboratory in the control of outbreaks and epidemics.
