SOWO 7410 Clinical Theories in Social Work
Critical examination of the epistemological sources and propositions of the theories congruent with the principles, values and mission of clinical social work. Analysis of the central theories of psychodynamic thinking, as well as with the various related perspectives and that of attachment and relationship links with neuroscience. Postmodernist theories, narrative, and social constructionism are included. Critical evaluation of the social and ideological subjectivity inherent in the intellectual tradition in most theories of human behavior.
