Minor Specialization

A minor is a set of related courses that complements the student's academic program. It must declared at the same time as the major specialization. The minor specialization has the purpose of providing students with the opportunity to explore areas of personal and professional interest, different or complementary to their program of study. Minor specializations are not conducive to college degrees.

Only students admitted to University graduate programs can declare a minor specialization. The University will certify a maximum of two minor specializations. Any declaration of minor specialization will require the approval of the academic advisor or the director of the department offering the minor specialization.

The student must complete the requirements of the minor specialization, before or at the same time that will complete the requirements of the degree. This statement must be made prior to applying for graduation. If a student completed the requirements of the program of study, a minor specialization will not be able to be declared.

A minor specialization will consist of a minimum of 9 credits and a maximum of 15 credits.

A minimum grade of B is required in the minor specialization courses for the corresponding certification.
