CPTR 251 Design of Programs for Strength Training and Weightlifting Techniques
The student will know and describe the periodization of training, microcycles, mesocycles, macrocycles, super sets. The student will have the opportunity to work with training variables such as: sequence, muscle balance, load determination, repetitions, sets, rest, recovery and exercise frequency. Identify weight lifting programs using free weights and machines. Know information related to strength gain, hypertrophy, muscle atrophy, resisted exercises, supervision of resisted exercises and basic guidelines on exercise techniques. Describe the correct mechanics of joint movement. Requires 30 hours of laboratory.
