MECN 4121 Design of Machine Elements I
Analysis of solid mechanics concepts such as loads, stresses and deformations in the design of machine components. Includes the study of failure theories for ductile and brittle materials and the use of safety factors in component design. Discussion of impact loads and fatigue, fracture and wear failures.
