COMP 2800 Databases
Discussion of database concepts. Description of different data models with emphasis on the relational model. Application of structured query language (SQL). Use of database management systems (DBMS), non-relational and non-SQL-based databases (NoSQL). Discussion of the importance of continuing professional development and awareness of social, ethical-legal, professional and safety issues and responsibilities in the discipline. Requires 45 lecture-laboratory hours.
