General Catalog 2025-2026

ELEN 3360 Applied Electromagnetics

Study of the behavior of electric and magnetic fields and the interrelation between them under static and dynamic cases, according to Maxwell's laws. Analysis of the electrical and magnetic properties in materials. Analysis of the propagation of electromagnetic waves in transmission lines; and the propagation of electromagnetic waves in conductive and dielectric media with and without losses. It includes the study of the transmission, reflection and refraction of electromagnetic waves for normal and oblique incidence. Study of the antennas and their characteristics. Examination of the Friis equation for satellite communication systems and radars.
