MMBP 4100 Applications of Molecular Medicine
Discussion of the cellular and molecular bases responsible for the development of human diseases, both genetic and inflammatory and malignant. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of the main therapeutic strategies used in molecular medicine, including gene editing, the use of therapeutic nucleic acids, therapeutic proteins, cell therapy, and related ethical aspects. The course will cover the general principles related to the procedures required to certify a drug as suitable for human consumption, in compliance with applicable regulations. Requires 45 lecture hours.
