Specialization in Health Services

The Master in Business Administration with a specialization in Health Services aims to train professionals who contribute with their knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes in the administration and decision-making of organizations that comprise the public and private health sector from the country. This specialization aims at training graduates capable of managing organizations in the health sector in difficult and changing environments.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

  1. The structure, governance and administration of health service organizations in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, clinics, retirement homes and nursing homes.
  2. Legal aspects related to the use of information systems in the health field.
  3. Public health models, epidemiological principles and their role in prevention for the development of health programs.

Skills

  1. Analyze public health problems and their effects on the administration of health care services.
  2. Originate a health services program from its design to the evaluation of the results.
  3. Integrate economic, institutional and social aspects to promote a balance between state and federal regulations and the administration of health services.

Attitudes

  1. Value ethics and legislation in decision making.
  2. Estimate the importance of research in administrative processes in the field of health services.
