International Business (MIB) Requirements

The Master in International Business develops the competences that contribute to preparation in management and enterprise in the international field. The diverse operational areas that affect global enterprise transactions are studied.

The Metropolitan Campus has a consortium with our School of Law that will allow qualified students to earn a Master of International Business (MIB) and a Juris Doctor (JD). Interested students must contact the academic department at the Metropolitan Campus for information and requirements.

The Metropolitan Campus is authorized to offer this Program.

Program Goals

The Master in International Business, aims to train responsible and rigorous leaders in the analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation of policies and strategies to successfully achieve the objectives of a company in an international environment.

The Program develops the skills necessary to succeed in the global market.

Program Objectives

  1. Contribute to the development of professionals with a culture of business management, consistent with advances in the discipline of international business.
  2. Develop the transformation of negotiation and intercultural communication groups, project management and business process analysis.
  3. Promote a culture of academic research and writing of excellence among the participants of the program in order to enrich their training and their contributions to the scientific, academic and professional literature.

Competencies Profile of Graduates

The Program aims to develop the following competences:

Knowledge

  1. Apply new knowledge and management skills to compete in global markets, either as an employee or entrepreneur.
  2. Examine the situation of the businessmen of Puerto Rico in the light of the current international trade agreements within the multidisciplinary and international context.

Skills

  1. Operate through the cultural and economic factors that intervene in business relationships at the international level.
  2. Develop projects or research related to international aspects.

Attitudes

  1. Value the differences in international markets as the current and future means of doing business in the face of a new economy and a new global socio-political environment.

Admission Requirements

Students requesting admission to the Master in International Business must:

  1. Obtain a minimum index of 600 points calculated by adding the score of the Postgraduate Studies Admission Exam (EXADEP) plus the GPA average multiplied by one hundred.
  2. Those candidates who have 3.00 or more of G.P.A. in a bachelor’s degree or 3.00 of GPA in the last 60 credits of studies and those applicants who have five (5) years or more of experience in International Business, are exempt from presenting the test results.
  3. Hold a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) or hold a bachelor’s degree in another discipline and present proof of having approved courses (or their equivalent) in the following areas, at the undergraduate level with a minimum grade of C or its equivalent:
    1. Statistics (3 credits)
    2. Economics (3 credits)
    3. Accounting I (3 credits)
    4. Marketing (3 credits)
    5. Finance (3 credits)
